I am Frederik Himpe, a 28 year old Linux system administrator from Ghent, Belgium, working at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In this blog, I’ll keep you posted about what I’m doing, especially any things related to Linux.
Since about 9 years, I use the Mandriva Linux distribution. I regularly try to contribute a bit to Mandriva’s development, Cooker. For server systems, I really like the Debian distribution.
Apart from computer science, I’m interested a lot in music. I listen to various music genres, going from pop to rock, over house and trip hop, etc… I especially like the Defected and Hed Kandi house brands. For all details about my music favourites, check out my last.fm profile. Keep in mind however that my last.fm profile is not updated since 2009 because I don’t use my computer anymore to listen to my music collection.
