Reviving an old thread - I've just updated Mandriva's libburn, packaged libisofs, and am about to update brasero to current SVN (we were on the unstable branch anyway, and all changes in SVN since then seem safe and important). I changed brasero to build against libburn and libisofs. If you want to test it again once the updated packages are available, it should be interesting :)

Hello,

very nice, thanks for writing this. I'll try to address some of the concerns
and perhaps give some useful insights. First of all, I hope Brasero will support
cdrskin rather sooner then later. Regarding libburn/libisofs support in Brasero, I seem
to notice that everyone gets it wrong. It is true that Brasero does support both of those
libraries, but support for libburn is stuck at version 0.2.4, which is seriously outdated.
I know Philippe and Luis are working on getting it up to date tho. Regarding the status
of libburn, I have to say that it's actually more stable and more useful then either
cdrecord or cdrkit. Mandriva's libburn/libisofs packages will be updated, please
give me some time to get to that.

Kind regards,
Mario

I only started blogging one week ago, but a lot has happened already in the meantime. I had already plans for setting up a blog for some time, and had installed Serendipity a few weeks ago. Why Serendipity and not the more popular Wordpress? Well, it was

Thanks a lot for this test, I also think that CD burning in the GNOME desktop is really late... K3B is stilll far ahead, but I tried to stick with GNOME apps (gnomebaker and graveman), and had not tried serpentine for a long time. I will from now :-)
